    Great Looking "Next-Gen" Game
For one of the first games to come out for the current generation of consoles (Xbox One/PS4) Ryse was one of the best looking games and it still is. It lacked a bit in content and mechanics, but the graphics were a cut above the rest.

The story was decent, but nothing spectacular and it was too short, in my opinion. The graphics really immersed you in the game and story, but that's about where it ends.

The quick time events (QTE) were way too often and definitely took away from the experience. I felt like every few minutes I was doing a QTE and it basically slowed down the gameplay and story. The mechanics were pretty good except for the QTE's. The gore was pretty realistic and cool for a game and the rest of the mechanics were actually quite good. I enjoyed the fighting for the most part.

Overall, the game was pretty good, but it still lacked some core features that could have made it so much better. Hopefully if another Ryse is made or if the studio makes another game they will learn from their mistakes with this game and put them to good use in the next one.

If you can pick it up for cheap, I'd say it's worth playing. If you can rent it, even better so that you can just return it when you're done without spending too much on a game you may only play once and may not be worth the price of a full game.

    3.5-4/5 or 7-7.5/10.
